Tahoe-Truckee Fly Fishing Trips
with Randy Johnson

"We teach you to become successful"

Fly Fishing trips in the Back Country, to smaller lakes & streams, are five to six hours. On most trips there is some hiking involved. Fish for Brook, Brown, and Rainbows out of float tubes in the higher alpine lakes of the Tahoe Sierra.

Trips to the Truckee River and smaller streams are five to six hours. We try to incorporate as many techniques into the day's fishing as we can. Indicator nymphing, pocket water dries and streamers. We want the day to be as much a teaching experience as a guided fishing trip.

We offer still water trips to the following lakes: Martis, Davis, Boca, Prosser, Milton, and Stampede Lakes. We teach Streamers, Emerging stages, Pre Emergers, Adult, and Damsel flies. We touch on line systems, water temperatures, reading water, and water zones. Learning about still water fishing can open a whole new world to you in the sport. Lakes harbor larger trout tan its counter part in a river. Because of the larger food supplies in lakes, the trout can get more food with less effort. It's just a matter of knowledge and techniques.

Whether on a lake or river, learning proper fundamentals are essential to good fly castin and presentation. Bad habits are hard to break. It's best to use quality tackle and easy to master techniques.

Lessons include:
Casting and the use of angles, power and accuracy, Hinge It Leader Systems, reading water, use of light, fly selection, short line indicator nymphing, dries, and streamers.

The sport of fly fishing is a sport of skill, mechanics, mastering, and most of all, feeling.
